I have a coolsat 6100 receiver, and it is not a "plug and play" receiver like i thought it might be. Any info you can give me regarding the setup of this system is VERY MUCH appreciated. thanks all.

Plug and play receivers don't exist to my knowledge though having someone else set it up for you would be the closest thing.

Most people buy these receivers for all the wrong reasons and then expect others to walk them through the whole process.

Your best bet is to read all you can about this subject , an educated guess tells me you have no prior experience with FTA .

True FTA requires knowledge of dish pointing , proper Linear LNB and skewing , and proper setup in receiver menu.

Next time read all you can about satellite receivers before buying one .

What were you thinking , that you could just plug it into you existing dish and watch TV for free , hurry up and sell it on ebay while you still can.

I know I sound harsh but FTA has gotten a black eye from all the people who use the recievers illegally to watch Pay TV for free by modifying them .

The truth is that your receiver is a good one and if you are interested in the 100% legal way of setting one up with the proper dish and getting some neat TV channels then I suggest you go to Satellite Guys U.S.
