The problem is that my laptop does not have the correct 9 pin socket to attach to (although there is a 15 pin connector that looks similar). I've tried a usb to serial adapter, and a usb cable to serial plug, but both times with no success. I want to connect the null modem cable directly, so the question is; can I add the proper card internally, without any adapter? If so, what exactly is it I need, and is it easy to instal?
